‘Introspection’

Art is a journey. When creating this art piece I, the artist, allows my soul to flow freely, lending true insight into my creative process. Each stroke of the pen becomes a part of my soul, and each line echoes the movement I experience when in flow state. Creative expression can be freeing and powerful in its intimacy, as it allows us to become one with our essence and soulful energies. I invite you to see into the nature of the never-ending flow of energy and feel your essence shine through with each stroke of the pen from this print.

This piece was inspired by my journey of self discovery. While creating this drawing, I had the intention of releasing any sort of labels I had personalized myself with and aimed to let go of verbal boundaries. I felt the need to free myself of humanly categories that have been formed centuries ago with extremely clouded judgement. The labels that formed groups of what is “good” or “bad” and what is “acceptable” and “unacceptable” of society. As I released these unnecessary judgements on myself, it truly showed through the expressive marks. There are so many different parts in this piece that are unable to be defined or determined, which is one of my favorite parts about it. Since there us so much more to things than what meets the eye, the name of this piece was born: ‘Introspection’.
